Have you said yes to a drink to make others feel more comfortable?

Have you said yes to a drink because you didn't want to make other people at the same table or party uncomfortable, even though you really didn't want to drink it?

I have.

What if you knew someone else was doing the same thing with you?

Imagine this: your best friend is downing that glass of vino, not because she wants to, but merely to save you from feeling a smidge awkward. 🍷😐 Would that sit right with you? Of course not! You want her to be REAL with you and tell you how she feels.

We love our friends for their authenticity and uniqueness. But for some reason, we're afraid to be true to ourselves when it comes to drinking.

Why do we say yes to the drink that we would rather skip just to blend in or put others at ease?

Your decisions should be about YOU—your health, happiness, and authenticity.

If your first thought in reading this is, what if I wind up with zero friends if I stop drinking? Then you, babe, are in the right place.

I thought the same.

But it turns out that sobriety strengthened all the relationships that mattered the most to me.

Remember, you are absolutely enough, just as you are—no 'liquid courage' necessary. 🚀💕
