You don't have a drinking problem, you have a thinking problem.
What if it wasn't actually about how much you're drinking?
What if it wasn't about counting days, suffering from FOMO, and wishing you could just have one?
What if you've been approaching the whole drinking thing from the wrong perspective this whole time? I sure was.
I know this sounds too good to be true, but getting your drinking under control is a lot easier than you might be making it.
It's not about willpower. It's not about punishing yourself.
Those methods DO NOT WORK. (If they did, no one would ever have a problem with overeating, overdrinking, and so on...)
What if the solution was to stop focusing on your behaviour and start focusing on what you're looking for in that glass of wine?
What if the alcohol wasn't helping you relax?
What if the alcohol wasn't helping you sleep?
What if the alcohol isn't helping you connect?
What if the alcohol isn't helping you cope?
What if the alcohol is actually just making your life harder, less enjoyable, and a heck of a lot more stressful? (thanks, cortisol!)
Once you work on your thinking and closely examine the true benefits of alcohol, the desire to drink vanishes into thin air. Like magic.
You don't have a drinking problem, my beautiful friend. You have a thinking problem.

What truths have you found in examining your thoughts about alcohol?
